"I wish I'd had a video"

It's one of the most common regrets people have after their wedding day. If I'd had a pound for every time I'd heard someone say "I wish I'd had a video", I'd be a millionaire!

Weddings are a whirlwind of sensation and emotion. And as cliche as it sounds, it goes so quick!

There will be moments you don't see, bits you didn't take in, tiny details you forget. And most importantly, watching your favourite people you mingling, chatting, laughing, hugging.

Weddings are very expensive and I'll be the first to admit that there are a bunch of other things that take priority in a budget. But memories are priceless. And having the magic of your wedding day captured in moving image is one of the best ways to remember it.

After all, you only do it once!

1. Voices can't be photographed!

This may sound obvious, but it's easy to overlook. So many of the most important parts of your wedding day are made up of movement, and sound.

The laughter of your girls whilst you're getting ready, the way your dad's face lit up when he first say you, the words you said to each other during your vows, the way your friends laughed at your best man's speech.

A wedding video encapsulates all these moments in all the colour and delight of sight and sound of the day.

2. Bits You Don't See

One of the funnest things about a wedding film is watching bits of the day you didn't see.

You can see the boys laughing as they get their suits on, all of your guests arriving, people setting up the venue, or the groom's nervousness before you walk down the aisle!

A wedding day is a whirlwind and there will be bits that you miss, things you forget, or people you didnt see. This can all be captured in lovely detail for you to watch back over and over again.

3. To Share With People

You have so many people who care deeply about you and your happiness - some of which will be able to be at your wedding - and some may not.

A wedding video is such a gift to all of those people that love you so they can share in the happiness of your day in one easy-to-watch wedding film.

That's not to mention the lasting memories this film with bring in 10, 20, 50 years time. How amazing will it be for your grandchildren to be able to watch your wedding back?!

4. Your Favourite People

As a lifelong photographer, I'll admit that of course your wedding photos are the most important thing.

But there is something so special about watching your friends, family and guests mingle, chat, laugh together that can trigger so much emotion and nostalgia. It can bring you back to that moment, or transport you back to those people so much more effectively that just in a still image.

5. Re-live It Over & Over Again

Having a beautiful 10-minute film can transport you right back to that day and give you all the feels!

It can take you back and help you relieve all the emotions over and over again. You can watch it any time you want, or re-live it every year on your anniversary.

And the most important part...it will be there forever. Your children, or grandchildren will get to see the two of you on of of the happiest days of your life for generations to come.

6. EXTRA REASON

You might regret it!

I know we did. When my wife and I got married, we (ironically) decided to skip having a video (why?!). And it's our biggest regret. We have some lovely photos to look at, but there are a million bits of our wedding day I wish I could actually watch.

Someone recorded our speeches, thankfully. But the camera is shaky, the audio is awful, but my god, I treasure those videos so much. I'm devastated we dont have the rest of the day on camera.
